PORT ELIZABETH - Eastern Cape
ADDO ELEPHANT PARK
A visit to the Addo Elephant Park for a day of leisure in the dense valley bushveld where you can view over 200 roaming elephants in their natural habitat. Other animals of interest are the Cape Buffalo, a variety of antelope and the unique flightless dung beetle.

A trip on the Apple Express (a narrow guage steam train), where you will enjoy a barbecue or lunch at the hotel. The Apple Express stops at the Van Stadens River bridge where passengers can disembark and photograph the oncoming train as it slowly steams over the highest narrow-guage bridge in the world.

KNYSNA - WESTERN CAPE

Stopping over at beautiful Knysna situated on the Indian Ocean Coast, where you can take a trip on the lagoon and sight see by boat.

CANGO CAVES:
Visit the world famous Cango Caves where a tour guide takes you deep into the spectacular caves.

SAFARI OSTRICH FARM
Take a guided tour around the Safari Ostrich farm.

CANGO WILDLIFE RANCH
CHEETAHLAND
Where you will enter the enclosure with the cheetah's (The only one of the big cats that can be tamed and domesticated). The cheetah is the fastest running animal on earth achieving an incredible speed of 120kph (75mph). You can also view lions, puma's, panthers, crocodiles, snakes and kangaroo's.

MOSSEL BAY
Stopping at Mossel Bay where you can whale watch.

CAPE TOWN
Arriving in Cape Town where you will stay at any of the spectacular resorts or hotels, taking day trips to many of the places of interest.

Enjoy a trip in the cableway to the top of Table Mountain where you can enjoy the view and have lunch in the restaurant on the mountain. Shop in the curio shop and post mail to family and friends from the Post Office on top of Table Mountain.

Visit Ratanga Junction, Cape Towns spectacular Theme Park, where you can go on a number of wild and exciting rides, have lunch or dinner at any of the restaurants and enjoy live shows.

A visit to the World famous Wine Farms along one of the many wine routes in the Cape.

Visit Cape Towns Waterfront where you can visit Seaworld, the Maritime Museum and one of the many pubs, restuarants and cinema's.

Take a boat trip to Seal Island and view seals in their natural habitat. Refreshments are sold on the boat.

Take a trip by ferry boat to "Robben Island" where Nelson Mandela spent his years in prison.

Sights along the Garden Route too numerous to mention will also be viewed.

BLYDE RIVER CANYON
One of the greatest natural wonders of Southern Africa is this 20km long canyon where wooded cliffs rise some 700m above the Blyde River and 1400m sandstone peaks of The Three Rondavel's stand majestically before Sundial Peak and the heights of Marieskop in the mountainous distance. The Blydepoort Public Resort is in a beautiful nature reserve. This region is in close proximity to numerous places of interest and has many amenities and facilities. Popular for its Nature Trails and Hiking Hills. Fauna is mainly antelope with hippopotamus and crocodile in the lower parts of the river.

GODS WINDOW
At the edge of the Drakensberg, overlooking the lowveld, is the timber centre of Graskop on the Panorama Route. This region is known for its spectacular waterfalls in unusual names as Berlin, Lisbon and Mac-Mac.
This is a great attraction for the tourist and when the aloes are in bloom at Gods Window the visitor is treated to the added delight of floral beauty.

BOURKES LUCK POTHOLES
Near the Treur and Blyde rivers a digger named Tom Bourke who sought his fortune among the strange rock formations and potholes gouged out by the swirling waters of the rivers. The museum provides an insight into the history of this interesting area. The area was named after Tom Burke because of his good fortune and luck in finding gold at the bottom of the gourged out potholes.

PILGRIMS REST
In 1873, soon after panning in the stream, he found a few specks of precious gold in the bottom of his pan. Soon the quiet valley was a mass of tents. Pubs were built and the dance-hall girls arrived. This town is as it was founded in 1873.

GRASKOP AREA
Graskop is on a spur of the Machberge range in a land of rocky outcrops and trumbling falls. Near Blyde river is the 92 metre high Lisbon Falls - a double cascade that plunges into rock pools in the area. These falls are one of the highest in a land of waterfalls - and perhaps one of the most impressive with white tumbling plunge green hillsides and tall forests.

SABIE AREA
The Voortrekkers reached the present Sabie district in 1846 and called the place 'Grootvantijn' (Old Dutch large fountain) where there are numerous pools, springs, and waterfalls in the area. Within a radius of 60km there are more than eight enchanting cascades. Sabie is also timber country with the world's largest man-made forest, and biggest sawmill. Lone Creek falls is 13km west of Sabie, and plunges 70m into a verdant abyss of fern and foliage. The force of these tumbling waters creates a constant rain-forest mist. Horseshoe falls are also unusual in that two streams side by side drip from eroded rock ledges to form the shape of a horseshoe. You travel through Long Tom Pass between Lydenburg and Sabie for 50km through magnificent mountain and forest scenery.
On the slopes of the old trails at Devil's Knuckles and Whisky Spruit the wagon-wheel's ruts remain as a reminder of history. A visit to one of the many rest camps along the Sabi River - Jock of the bushveld camp.
Staying over at one of the numerous lodges where you can enjoy a traditional South African barbecue.

NORTHWEST PROVINCE

PILANESBERG
The Pilanesberg is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. A unique geological feature of the Pilanesberg is the rare rock types and structures. 1300 Years ago the volcano erupted, once the streams of lava that flooded the landscape had cooled, time slowly started transforming the Pilanesberg plains and valleys, and life settled down in the natural sanctuary.

SUN CITY
A visit to the jet set playground of Sun City, that rises out of the Pilansberg like an oasis- subtropical gardens and a man-made lake create magnificent settings for this luxurious resort. There are numerous sights and sounds to enjoy every minute of the day and night - Extravaganza Shows, disco dancing, great gaming in the casino to superstar performances in the Superbowl. Sun City is a sportsmans paradise with two Championship golf courses, squash courts, bowling greens, watersports and horseriding are some of the sporting activities available.

LOST CITY
A visit to the Lost City - Africa's Kingdom of pleasure. Centuries before tall ships were dreamed of, Legend tells of a people from the North of Africa who journeyed southward to seek a New World of peace and plenty. They settled in a green valley circled by ancient hills, but when an earthquake destroyed their magnificent architecture, they were forced to abandon it to the concealing growth of time. So the Lost City and its beautiful palaces lived on only in memory. Until it was 'Re-discovered' at Sun City. In 1992 it was restored as part of the stunning entertainment and sports amenities of this amazing leisure resort.

  UMHLANGA ROCKS
Spend a night in Umhlanga Rocks at one of the many upmarket hotels, leaving the next day after breakfast for a visit to the Sharks board which is the only organization of its kind in the world, where you can witness a shark being dissected and an audio-visual show. There is also a very interesting curio shop.

CROCODILE CREEK - SALT ROCK
Crocodile Creek is the home to 7000 crocodiles, alligators and Caimen, as well as monkeys, various bird species and snakes.

SHAKALAND
A trip to Shakaland, where you can experience the exciting and powerful traditional dancing and traditional cuisine, you can stay over in a traditional Zulu Village or hotel.

Whale and Dolphin viewing - enjoy and experience a lifetime on a echo-friendly deepsea whale watching tour in the Richard's Bay to Cape Vidal area, as well as whale and dolphin viewing expeditions in othr areas on the North Coast.
Best time of the year to watch whales is from May to October.

ST LUCIA
Spend a few days at the St.Lucia Estuary where you can see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Fish or just relax, have a South African barbeque. Buy curios along the side of the road from African stallholders, visit one of the many pubs in St.Lucia, travel on the ferry from St. Lucia to Fannies Island where you can fish and have a traditional barbaque along the way.

HLUHLUWE-UMFOLOZI PARK
Visit the Umfolozi Game Reserve which is approximately a 3 hour drive from Durban where you can have a guided tour, viewing the wildlife from our luxuary air-conditioned Microbus. You can also stay over at one of the various camps.





 
 

Only an hours trip from Durban, a trip in the country along the many various routes of the Midlands Meander which was started in 1985 by local artists, potters and weavers who got together and created a unique arts and crafts route. The Midlands is between Hilton, a quaint village just north of Pietermaritzburg, and Hidcote, a farming hamlet outside Mooi River, which extends from Rietvlei and Currys Post in the east, to the lush Dargle Valley and Fort Nottingham in the west. Travel through the scenic beauty while linking Meander outlets, picturesque villages and places of interest.

Visit the spectacular Howick Falls, which was proclaimed a National Monument in 1951.

Stop over for light lunches or dinners at one of the many Country Houses along the route, as well as the various curio shops.

Visit the Nottingham Road Brewing Company, and try a draught brewed in their brewery, and cosy pubs with roaring fires.

DRAKENSBERG
Visit the Drakensberg Mountains, which extend from the North Western Border to the Thukela Region. Its mountains rise as high as 3000m and host some of the popular South African Nature Reserves. Many well names such as Mount-aux-sources and the Natal Royal National Park, which attract both local and overseas tourists to enjoy the unique, majestic and breathtaking views. The Drakensberg Mountains are synonymous with rare and exquisite flora, such as cycads, a variety of wildlife (antelopes and pedrators) and a bird sanctuary - Beaded vulture, Marital Eagle, Cape Vultures and others.

Known to the Zulu people as Ukhahlamba or the Barrier of Spears, the Mountains of the Dragon are the source of the Tugela River, the largest in the province. You can see the most spectacular waterfall, the Tugela Falls, that is the second highest waterfall in the world. During the winter months the mountains are a picture of winter wonderland.

The berg is popular with hikers, rock climbers, trout fisherman and many other holidaymakers and tourists. For the adventurous there are many trails, where you can stop overnight in one of the caves high up in the mountains, take a dip in the icy pools and rivers, goes a long way to restoring those weary of city life. For the enthusiast there is canoeing, mountaineering, hiking and mountain bike trails. For the more leisurely there is fly-fishing, bird watching, day walks and scenic tours.



 

 
  The South Coast remains a holidaymaker's paradise - whatever the season! The warm Agulhas current ensures the sea tempreture rarely dips below 20C which keeps the climate great for the beaches and water sports during the winter months.

Travel along the ocean to Scottburgh where you can visit Croc World on a guided tour of the giant crocodiles, alligators, aquarium and snakes. Crocodile feeding twice daily. Stay over for lunch in the restaurant, which over looks the ocean, and try their delicious crocodile steaks.

After lunch take a drive to Wetland Park where you can view cycads, flamingos and visit their curio shop, stopping for afternoon tea in their restaurant.

ORIBI GORGE NATURE RESERVE - PORT SHEPSTONE
Take a trip to Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve where spectacular sandstone cliffs overlook deeply forested areas. There is abundant wildlife, numerous picnic spots, overnight facilities and outstanding views (including the famous Hanging Rock)

PORT SHEPSTONE MARITIME MUSEUM
Visit the Museum and view a model of the Port Shepstone harbour, shipwreck display, shark nets, plus history of commerical development in Southern KwaZulu-Natal.

BANANA EXPRESS
A tourist passenger service throughout parts of the country that remain unseen on a narrow-guage steam train unlike any other. Veteran coaches carry passengers from Port Shepstone along the South Coast for 7 kilometres before turning inland through ever changing scenery to Izotsha and Paddock, where you can enjoy a traditional barbaque under shady trees.

PORT EDWARD
UMTUMVUMA NATURE RESERVE
Taking a trip to the Umtumvuna Nature Reserve, home to the nesting Cape Vultures, with baboons and buck frequently sighted.

Day hikes available into the ravine forest where a large variety of trees and bountiful birdlife may be seen.

WILD COAST CASINO
Try your luck at the Wildcoast Casino for a relaxing and enjoyable day and join us for lunch and dinner. Afterwards you could go to one of the many shows.

BEAVER CREEK COFFEE FARM
Situated inland from Port Edward, visit Beaver Creek Coffee Farm where you can discover the fascinating process of coffee growing, roasting and blending. In season walking tours. Visit the coffee shop, which is open Mondays to Saterdays.

SPACE CENTRE
Both an ovservatory and astronomical museum, the centre contains the largest private collection of telescopes, lasers and optical equipment in Africa, which is open for tours at 11am and 15.00. Nature trails offered and you can enjoy tea in the Tea Garden.

SOUTHERN EXPLORER
Travel from Shelly Beach to Port Edward along the adventure route and arts and crafts trail. Finding anything from kite making to abseiling.

UMZINTO
The reserve is situated in Umzinto on 2189 hectares and comprises fine coastal forest and grassland with abundant wildlife such as impala, blue wildebeest, zebra and eland.




 
  Durban, being on the East Coast side of South Africa, is the larges city in KwaZulu-Natal. A unique cultural and historical crossroads of South Africa funcions as the continent's biggest and busiest port. Durban can rightfully boast that every season is in season! Durban compromises of two main streets, West and Smith, housing many major department stores and many centres, has extended shopping hours and is open on Sundays.

Durban's famous six-kilometre-long'Golden Mile' consists of numerous popular beaches. From the Bluff area up to the central beaches, sea bathing can be enjoyed virtually all year, as the warm waters of the Indian Ocean rarely fall below 17 degrees celsius, even in winter.

Watersports action includes boardsailing, scuba diving, powerboating and parasailing. Cable slide into the ocean.

Take a walk on the Ocean Floor at Sea World for an unforgettable experience. Discover the wonders of our Marine Life, corals, sharks, the delighful penguins and enchanting dolphins.

Visit Fitzsimons snake park and see the many different types of snakes found in South Africa. Venomous snake demonstrations done daily and snake feeding over weekends.

Take a trip around the harbour with a chartered boat.

Visit the Botanic Gardens and Japanese Gardens.

Visit the Umgeni River Bird Park - where you can see a fantastic free-flight bird show with spectacular birds. There is an extensive collection of indigenous and exotic birds from flamingos to finches, magpies to macaws. Restaurants where you can have tea in the tranquillity of the Bird Park.

VALLEY OF A THOUSAND HILLS - AFRICA ON YOUR DOORSTEP
A scenic route that takes you to the Valley of a Thousand Hills, wanders inland up Fields Hill, past the residential area of Kloof, charming village of Hillcrest and into the rolling countryside of Botha's Hill, Assagay and Drummond. Taking visitors through the Krantzkloof Gorge, following the course of the Umgeni River and down to Shongweni with its dramatic sandstone cliffs.

Highlights of 1000 Hills Experience are interactive Zulu Cultural villages, microlighting, bush drives, horse trails and game viewing. As you journey along the route, you will be delighted by the variety of crafts and the opportunity to watch artists at work. Enjoy the roadside pubs and country hotels with breathtaking views over the valley.
